Junior Buyer
Job Overview
The Junior Buyer will be responsible for supporting the buying team in the end-to-end process of product selection, operations, and inventory management. He/She will be traveling to markets, managing orders, collaborating with suppliers, and ensuring the timely delivery of merchandise. The Junior Buyer will assist in conducting market research, and supporting seasonal sales strategies to optimize stock and drive sales.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting in placing and managing orders, ensuring accuracy and alignment with the buying plan
Traveling to local and international markets to attend buying trips, collaborate with suppliers, and review new collections to select merchandise aligned with Ounass customer preferences
Collaborating with the warehouse team to resolve shipment discrepancies, liaising with suppliers for immediate corrective actions
Conducting competitive pricing analysis and gather market intelligence by visiting competitors and reporting insights
Supporting the Buyer in researching and selecting high-quality merchandise to achieve sales and profit objectives
Maintaining regular communication with suppliers to ensure efficient ordering, timely delivery, and resolution of payment issues
Assisting in preparing for seasonal sales by helping the Buyer identify markdown opportunities to maintain optimal stock levels
Tracking and following up on re-orders, ensuring alignment with sales performance and inventory levels
Maintaining an up-to-date database of vendor agreements and ensure accurate documentation is shared with relevant teams
Compiling and analyzing feedback from stakeholders, providing detailed buying feedback reports and actionable recommendations for each brand portfolio
Providing customer service support by managing special orders and addressing queries related to stock availability and product knowledge
Mentoring, guiding and motivating junior team members to enhance performance and produce quality work
What We’re Looking For
Understanding of market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive analysis
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and consumer insights
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, planning, and supply chain
Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Willingness to travel as needed for buying trips, supplier meetings, and market visits
Passion for the luxury fashion industry and a keen eye for emerging trends
Ability to present confidently to senior stakeholders
